Nova Scotia's Beautiful Annapolis Valley!
The Annapolis Valley boasts some of the best soils and climatic conditions in eastern Canada.
|
The Annapolis region is recognized as the 3rd most important fruit growing area in Canada with orchards, vineyards, and our famous Bay of Fundy, with the highest tides in the world. The community spirit is alive and well in the Valley. Children play safely and enjoy great schools, university students bustle about with books in tow and adults casually attend to their chores while enjoying a quality of life found in very few places. The population is diverse in occupation with the Agricultural sector contributing much of the region's employment, culture and reputation. Wolfville hosts Acadia University, with an international student population, while global industrial firms, such as Michelin Tire, call this home. |

The Story of Evangeline:
The history of Grand Pré, Acadian past and of the fictional character
"Evangeline" is an interesting one filled with history and courage.
Throughout this region, you will be reminded of the story of the tragic
"Expulsion of the Acadians".
Nova Scotia's Evangeline Trail starts in Yarmouth County, covering one half of
the south western tip of the province, and continues on into Mt. Uniacke, not
far from Metro Halifax. In this region, the land and sea merge, the past lingers
in the present and both French and English have found a home. Explore over 400
years of proud history and cultural diversity. Reflect on the strong Acadian and
Loyalist influences.
The Bay of Fundy: http://www.bayoffundy.com/
The Bay of Fundy was once one
of the great discoveries of the "New World." Now you can make a few
new discoveries of your own. With our unique museum tours, you can discover the
early days of our shoreline, the people who settled there and the ways that they
lived, played and worked.
The highest tides on Earth occur in the Minas Basin, the eastern extremity of
the Bay of Fundy, where the average tide range is 12 metres and can reach 16
metres when the various factors affecting the tides are in phase.
The Town of Wolfville: http://www.town.wolfville.ns.ca/
The Town of Wolfville welcomes
you to the picturesque Annapolis Valley.
Originally know as Mud Creek, it got it's name in 1830 when two granddaughters
of Judge Elisha DeWolfe convinced their postmaster uncle that a more suitable
name was needed. The villagers chose the name Wolfville for their town. Today
beautiful elm trees, manicured lawns and grand century old homes guide visitors
down Wolfville's Main Street.
